Betty Fred hornMy parents, Betty & Fred Horn, were married on Valentine’s Day in 1946 after meeting at a USO dance on the top floor of the old Citizens Bank Building in downtown Americus, Georgia on New Year’s Eve, 6 weeks before!!  That leap of faith has always astounded me, but apparently, love at first sight was the way to go for them, as they were happily married for 54 years before my father passed away in 2000.  3 Senior Powells Graduate003When my husband Rick asked me to marry him, I knew Valentine’s Day was our date, but it ended up being February 21st so we celebrate all week long!!!

I’m so excited to be helping people that are celebrating love and sharing the love story of Sally Run!  Not only brides & grooms, but also new moms with baby showers, families with reunions, & all kinds of groups who love to be together & want a beautiful place to gather!  I often think about the love and events that will be celebrated at Sally Run in the coming years.  I hope that it will be something that Sally Run’s first love story, Richard & Eleanor Powell, as well as my loving parents, Betty & Fred Horn, can be proud of.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all and may love always be in the air!!!  Believe in love…it is our infinite purpose!!!
